Role of zoological gardens
The Municipal Zoological Garden in Warsaw is a large, green island in the middle of the city, a magical place, full of interesting adventures. You can visit it for knowledge, relax surrounded by beautiful nature and observe wonderful animals. Our Zoo has more than 12,000 animals representing about 500 species, of which nearly 50 are covered by the European Endangered species Programme (EEP). The mission of the Zoo is integrated nature protection aiming at ensuring the sustainability of species. The implementation of our mission is based on five pillars: Breeding, Education, Research, Rehabilitation and Recreation. A visit to our Zoo is a great attraction for children and adults, so I invite everyone to spend time in an interesting way surrounded by nature and in the company of our animals.
